The Next 100 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Advocacy

for the benefit of our nation

We join with other congregations of women religious in the United States as members of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) for The Next 100 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Advocacy for the benefit our nation. We have selected Sunday, September 27, the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul, for our particular day of commitment. We invite YOU, our family and friends, to participate on that day or any other days you choose from July 28 through election day, November 3, 2026. 

Together we commit:
∆ to PRAY four our country, our leaders and our people at this time,
∆ to FAST from actions, words and thoughts that are aggressive, judgmental or demeaning, and
∆ to engage in some kind of ADVOCACY for the poor and vulnerable.
 
In January 2025, A Response from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious to These Times was publicized in which Catholic sisters called for a steadfast and clear recommitment to the values for which they have labored and nurtured for centuries. The values that have guided their religious lives include: 
  • the belief in the inherent right to life of all human beings and the dignity of each life
  • the commitment to the Gospel demands of love, welcome, and care for all people, especially those who are most vulnerable
  • the duty to welcome immigrants and provide care and aid to all in our land, while insisting on comprehensive immigration reform
  • the responsibility to stand against violence in all its forms
  • the commitment to dismantle systemic racism
  • the belief that care of our planet Earth requires our attention and action
  • respect for the journey of all persons into the wholeness of their humanness
  • the work to alleviate poverty in all forms

In April of 2025, the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity, along with other congregations of women religious, made a joint public statement in response to a recognized global and national shift in values and priorities that negatively impact the lives of millions of our most vulnerable brothers and sisters. That public statement, published in the Philadelphia Inquirer on April 27, 2025, offers A Vision for a Future Full of HOPE based on the principles that:

  • Every person is an expression of God. All life is sacred.
  • We must prioritize the needs of those who are the most vulnerable.
  • There is dignity in all work, and the rights of all workers must take precedence over profit.
  • Earth is God’s gift to us, and we have the privilege to cherish, defend, and protect her for future generations.
  • Justice is the path to lasting peace.

In May of 2025, we joined over 140 other congregations of women religious in the first 100 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Advocacy to benefit our nation. This Next 100 Days running from July 28 through November 3, 2026 is the fourth in the series.

We believe that prayer matters. We know that prayer leads us to respond to the needs of the people of God. For generations, we have fasted from what distracts us from keeping God as our center point. Many of us experience the desire to respond to ever-increasing division with a call to love with hearts of contemplation and action. We invite you to join us in whatever ways you can during these Next 100 Days.

 and be a witness of peace in the midst of harm.
