Wounded by God: Redemptive Healing in Christ and His Church

The Bible describes God as wounding us (e.g. Job 5, Hosea 6) and such language seems shocking, but why does God wound us? God does so in order that He might heal us. When we, sinners as we are, wound others we do so in order to harm, but not so with God. God wounds us so that He might fill those wounds with His healing and redemptive love. The way to salvation is paved by the wood of the Cross. Join us for a deep dive into the Bible as we explore wounds, healing, and redemption.

Retreat discussions will include:

  • The Lord my Healer
  • The life and cry of Jacob
  • Paul and the Cross
  • The Suffering Servant
  • St. John Paul II theology of suffering
