Celebrating 70 Years
Sr. Catherine McCarthy, MSBT was born to William and Catherine Connell McCarthy on February 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Sr. Catherine entered the MSBTs on August 5, 1951 and initially took the name Sr. Ann Jude of the Blessed Sacrament. She professed her final vows on March 25, 1926. During her 70 years as an MSBT, Sr. Catherine served in Richmond, VA; Hyannis, MA; Long Island City, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Swissvale, PA; Cambridge, MA; Brooklyn, NY; and Ponce, Puerto Rico. Sister’s ministries included Kindergarten teacher, Religious Education, Parish Work, Catholic Social Services, Educational Coordinator, Director, Social Worker, Intra-Community Service and Assistant coordinator of Inn Dwelling II. Sister Catherine is currently missioned in Philadelphia at Mother Boniface Missionary Cenacle at Wesley serving in the Ministry of Prayer.
