Celebrating 60 Years
Sr. Helen Gaffney, MSBT was born Helen Margaret Gaffney on March 30, 1940 to John and Margaret Breheney Gaffney in Bronx, New York. Sr. Helen entered the MSBTs on September 8, 1961 and received the name Sr. Ellen Marie of Jesus Crucified. During her 60 years as a MSBT, Sr. Helen served in Long Island City, NY; Montgomery, AL; Mobile, AL; New York City, NY; E. Brunswick, NJ; Brooklyn, NY; Huntsville, AL and Birmingham, AL. Sister Helen’s missions include Parish work, Catholic Social Services, Catholic Charities, Adoption Councilor, Catholic Center for Concern and Consultant. Sister Helen is currently missioned in Birmingham, AL as Mission Consultant for Holy Name of Jesus Trust.
