Sr. Lourdes Teresa Toro, MSBT

Celebrating 50 Years

Sister Lourdes Teresa Toro entered the MSBT on September 23, 1973. She professed her final vows on March 25, 1981. During her 50 years as an MSBT Sister served in Ponce, PR; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA; Newark, NJ and Mayaguez, PR.

Her ministries have included service at Centros Sor Isolina Ferré (Community Outreach Center in Puerto Rico), Director of Catholic Social Services, Youth Ministry, Hispanic Apostolate and MSBT General Councilor. Sr. Lourdes is currently missioned to Migrant Border Ministry in Edinburg, TX. Sr. Lourdes has a strong connection to our Missionary Cenacle Family and a deep love of our charism which is often expressed in her affirmation of others and encouraging them to “Be good, Do good and Be a power for good” in their daily lives. Sister was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and always looks forward to return visits to the “Isla del Encanto” (‘Island of Enchantment’).
